Gender Equality

BRUSSELS - 16 September: EPPW President Doris PACK (MEP) and other female MEP\'s from diferent political experiences and different countries gathered in the European Parliament to discuss how to improve the gender balance in European politics, and how to ensure that women\'s rights are promoted.

A new European Commission is to be appointed. No women\'s names have been mentioned. Where the 1st Barrosso Commission had the highest number of female Commissioners, gender balance for the composition of the new Commission again has to be a political objective of the highest importance.

Doris PACK and the other female MEP\'s are determined to stand up for women\'s rights. European democracy should benefit fully from the talents, ideas and determination of women.
